Of course, in typical Sony-style, they’re bungling it. Besides the fact that it won’t actually play MP3s (you have to convert everything to ATRAC3 first), they’ve set the list price at $399, which is a hundred bucks more than the 20GB iPod which actually does play MP3s. If anything Sony should be trying to undercut Apple, not trying to convince people to pay a premium for a player that’s less useful.
