This procedure is reminiscent of Herbert Marcuse’s attack on tolerance as commonly understood as a “false,” “bad,” or (famous phrase) “repressive tolerance.” Against this evil he advocated what he called “liberating tolerance.” What is liberating tolerance? Simple: “intolerance against movement from the Right, and toleration of movements from the Left.”

Rzecz dzieje się we francji, czyli nigdzie.
Jest we Francji wielu dziennikarzy, których moja śmierć bardzo ucieszy. Ja natomiast nie tracę nadziei, że dopóki żyję, będę się przyczyniał do bankructwa pewnych gazet. To bardzo trudne zadanie, bo we Francji gazety są na utrzymaniu państwa – nawiasem mówiąc, jest to według mnie jeden z najmniej uzasadnionych, a nawet skandalicznych, wydatków publicznych w tym kraju.
Mimo to mój zamysł nie wydaje się skazany na niepowodzenie, bo jednak w ostatnich latach gazety straciły sporo czytelników. W trudnej sytuacji są wszystkie pisma lewicowe, to znaczy prawie wszystkie pisma francuskie. Brak im czytelników. Mówiąc ogólnie, lewica we Francji najwyraźniej jest na wymarciu, a proces ten przyspieszył po objęciu urzędu prezydenta przez François Hollande`a. Z tego głównie powodu lewica stała się szczególnie agresywna i złośliwa. To klasyczny przypadek zwierzęcia przypartego do muru, które czuje śmiertelny strach i robi się groźne.
